The English Fiddle Ensemble will stream live on Folkscape.Live on Sunday 15 February 2026. This special acoustic performance brings together four of England’s finest traditional fiddlers—Bryony Griffith, Jim Boyle, Ross Grant, and Rosie Butler-Hall, for an evening of joyous harmonies, striking rhythms, and the rich variety of English dance tunes. Since forming in 2021, the quartet has captivated audiences at major folk festivals including Manchester, Cambridge (where they opened), and Sidmouth (supporting John Tams). Their acclaimed 2025 debut album Engrained celebrates the deeply embedded traditions of English village musicians, and this intimate livestream promises to showcase each player’s distinctive style through loosely arranged tunes that weave precise unison, soaring harmonies, and spirited improvisation. As Martin Simpson says, their playing is quite simply “exquisite.”
